Adarate & Defense

Engineers at Adarate have through the years been involved in developing a number of defense products. These contributions all tend to mainly lay within the electronic warfare domain, such as radio direction finder algorithms (optimized for a ground-based, tactical system with multiple RDF-units), Digital Radio Frequency Memory known as DRFM (optimized to run on the Adarate HRFT platform), recorder and data storage systems etc.

HRFT (Highspeed Radio Frequency Transceiver) is an extremely high-performance,versatile and modular platform which permits the development of effective applications / systems such as spectrum analyzers, Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWGs) or flexible radio-solutions, for instance Software Defined Radio (SDR). HRFT as platform is very well suited where the needs of broadband, speed and/or low latency are essential. Examples are systems for protection against Radio-Controlled Improvised Electronic Devices (IEDs or specifically RCIEDs).

Electronic Warfare per definition is a military field involving the use of electromagnetic energy to determine, exploit, reduce or prevent hostile use of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Is it possible to have any military action without involving electronic warfare equipment? In a modern combat, electronic warfare equipment is the soldier’s shield. It protects not only against known threats but can by use of optical and infrared techniques, devices and equipment deny or counteract new, unknown threats like the enemy’s use of radar, communications, guidance, or other radio wave devices.
